Listen: Jeremy Jordan Belts Out Soaring 'For Her' From The Great Gatsby

The production, which officially opened at the Broadway Theatre April 25, will release its original Broadway cast recording through Sony Masterworks. The digital album, which was initially set to be released June 21, will now be available to stream June 28, with the physical CD set to be released August 2.

The link is YouTube, but it's only audio, no video. However, take a moment to listen to his voice. Jeremy Jordan soars. His voice is amazing...

Three new songs have been released, however; you can now stream "New Money", "For Her", and "Beautiful Little Fool" on all digital music platforms, in addition to the three tracks that were released in the lead up to the Tonys; "Roaring On", "My Green Light", and "Past is Catching Up to Me".

I saw Gatsby recently. Jeremy and Eva were terrific. The audience loved them.

The audience loves everything on Broadway. It validates their spending all that money.

R3. It often costs a whole lot more to go to a sporting event. So what's your point?

I have tickets (I think) to a different Gatsby musical at the American Rep in Cambridge. This one is music by Florence (and the Machine) Welch

How can there be two Gatsby musicals at the same time?

He tells a story of recording all the songs for The Greatest Showman, paying for himself to fly out while sick to sing to get funding, finding out Jackman cannot sing because he had that cancer removed from his nose and having to do Jackman's part (while sick) also, then finding out that he got screwed out of the part in favor of Efron by Jackman.

He tells it as a humorous anecdote, but it paints everyone, including Jackman, as true assholes. They knew when the called him to fly out on his own dime and dangled the possibility of getting the part that they had already tagged Efron if they got greenlit to make the movie. He found out WHILE finishing the run through.

R5. Well, one Gatsby is being performed in Cambridge, Mass. The other one is on Broadway.

Get it now?

That song "For Her" comes right out of the Frank Wildhorn Wannabe Songbook. I haven't heard the rest of the score, but the only thing missing from Jeremy's beautiful rendition was a key change just before the last chorus.

Are there other power ballads in the show? Is there a role for Linda Eder?

My point was certainly not to compare the costs of Broadway with sporting events.

Every performance gets a standing ovation on Broadway every time. I’m convinced it’s because the audience wants to believe they’ve seen something special. The cost is a factor in that. Especially for tourists.

I just stumbled over his YouTube videos by chance. The man has an incredible voice, but in his videos he comes across as an asshole; often joking around thinking he's funny and mugging during the song.

I can't tell if he thinks very highly of himself, or if he is very uncomfortable in his skin.

No matter what you think of the song, he kills "It's All Coming Back to me Now" from 'Broadway Loves Celine Dion'. But he ruins the performance by mugging for the audience.

Anybody know him or have any experience with him? I've tried to find more recordings or an album but coming up with nothing other than him singing at a benefit, or a clip here and there from a random performance of something he's sung in a show.

You're a queer one, Jeremy Jordan!
