I used to work at the Manhattan D.A.'s office when JFK Jr. was there. He was rarely in the office. Cases were worked on by other assistant DA's and then handed off to him right before the trial. Not that he ever worked on major cases anyway - he was in a lower level crime unit. The DA at the time was Morgenthau and his family had been close with upper echelons of the Dem party since Roosevelt administration.

It's not just about reputation, it's about skill level. Anyone who has ever become good at doing something knows that it takes time and repetition. She was probably a show pony that really had no deep experience in anything.

I cant confirm anything else R8 wrote but would not be surprised if most of it were to be proved true.
