I was just about to post this but the search actually eorked. So he slid further than Mallory - where's that camera!

by Anonymousreply 1October 11, 2024 3:42 PM

I didn’t know he was so young—just 22.

[quote] Members of the family have volunteered to share DNA samples to compare with the remains in order to confirm their identity.

In case it’s someone else’s foot in his sock?

by Anonymousreply 3October 11, 2024 4:11 PM

Mallory chose him even though he less climbing experience than the rest of the group, but he knew the most about the oxygen tanks. (And I always thought Mallory also wanted him because he was definitely the best-looking.)

What are you saying?

by Anonymousreply 5October 11, 2024 4:34 PM

I cried because I had no shoes...

by Anonymousreply 6October 11, 2024 4:34 PM

I suppose it’s technically possible he lent clothing to another team member, but I don’t think anyone else would have been in that position on the mountain.

by Anonymousreply 7October 11, 2024 4:36 PM

Did anyone else on the expedition die?

by Anonymousreply 8October 11, 2024 4:38 PM

Quite big feet.

by Anonymousreply 9October 11, 2024 5:02 PM

Boots can be so misleading.

by Anonymousreply 10October 11, 2024 5:10 PM

Sandy is a girl’s name.

Despite the allure of adventure and glory of climbing Mount Everest, it would be tragic to die in the attempt at just age 22 with your whole life ahead of you, only to have only part of your remain discovered 100 years later.

by Anonymousreply 12October 11, 2024 6:49 PM

Footless in Kentucky, maybe?

by Anonymousreply 13October 11, 2024 7:10 PM

Oooohhhh, Saaaaaandy

by Anonymousreply 14October 11, 2024 11:28 PM

Bump

I was going to ask, "Just the one?" But in this case, it looks like it was just the one foot.
