Zodiac is coming to 4K this month
Was viewed as a flop when released, but now I think it’s arguably David Fincher’s masterpiece and the best San Francisco film alongside Vertigo. Despite its frequent use as a location in films, very few films depict San Francisco’s spookiness correctly- it’s a spooky place.
The new Netflix Zodiac film also comes out at the end of the month.

It flopped commercially. I remember my thugged out cousin from down south came to visit me at NYU and we went to see this lol. He suggested it. We went to theater at union square and this shit was excellent. I hadn’t even really heard about it. This is one of my favorite movies actually.

I slept with all of the lights on in my apartment the night I saw this in theaters.

People who post with the word "arguably" have blown too much wind up their own asses to have trustworthy judgment.

My favorite movie of all time.
“Zodiac” has much more humanity than Fincher’s other films. Interesting, considering the subject matter.
But I repeat-watch mostly for RDJ and Ruffalo.

LOVE the cast;
Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards, Dermont Mulroney, Philip Baker Hall, John Getz, John Carroll Lynch, and Brian Cox.

This is the Zodiac speaking.
I will not tolerate slovenly discussions on the internet.
I shall have order.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Great movie. The opening scene with the Zodiac killer in that fucked up square hood with the sunglasses creeping behind the tree was nightmare fuel.

Was that the opening scene? I don’t think so.

R9, I think that was the second murder scene where the pre-law kid and his beautiful girlfriend were stabbed in the park.
Best movie ever. Loved RDJ and Chloe Sevigny.

R12, I'm happy someone remembered DL fave Chloe Sevigny is in this film. However, it was a thankless role.

I watch “Zodiac” every 4th of July.
(Also “A Few Good Men.”)

R14, thank you! I agree it was a thankless (and small) role; I respect how restrained Sevigny's performance was. She could have hammed it up to stand out, but she seemed to take the part for what it was.
Her performance, with its quiet and watchful but growing terror of the Zodiac, really amped up the spookiness of the whole movie.
