Isn't this about the most beautiful house you've ever seen?
It seems so out of place in Vermont though

Beautiful interiors - I'm not a fan of Greek revival, personally.
Looks like there are a lot of large homes up there by Lake George. Probably beautiful in the fall and early winter.
A 6 month house - July through Dec.

Fun fact - this house was targeted by the Americana collector and Shelburne Museum founder Electra Havemeyer Webb for her museum village. The then-owners refused to sell the house, so Ms. Webb had an exact replica commissioned to hold her collection of Impressionist, Hudson River School and Art Nouveau art.
Thus R1's sly reference to "Mourning Becomes Electra".

My sly post was because it reminded me of stock photos from the movie.

I can't even begin to imagine how difficult a house with that many windows would be to heat in a Vermont winter. A great summer home, but not practical for year-round living for sure.

It's absolutely beautiful. I hope someone is restoring it.

You need to picture some of these columned homes without what is basically just a big decorative front porch. They are just boxes.

Gorgeous.

Greek Revival is the most elegant architectural style

God I love the old house dreams website. I'd love to have the money and time to restore this beauty.
