For me, it’s noise pollution, specifically the kind inflicted by noisy lifted trucks driven by deplorables. I despise loud trucks and the loud losers who drive them. I hate all goddamned trucks and would be embarrassed to own one or even ride in one.

by Anonymous | reply 72 | October 17, 2024 4:37 AM |
R71, of course. But no one else does, especially in LA where every light is full of Musk mobiles.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | October 17, 2024 4:41 AM |
Sure R72 - you obviously haven't.
Driving an automatic and stepping on the gas can happen immediately when the light changes.
Driving a stick shift means that the clutch is released simultaneously with the accelerator being depressed when the light changes, assuming that the driver has the shift engaged in first gear at the time (aka "riding the clutch"), otherwise the driver first shifts to first gear, then the clutch is released simultaneously with the accelerator being depressed. This can take a couple of seconds.
To do any of these out of order and too fast results in the vehicle stalling - that's the problem.
I've been driving stick shifts all my life, R72 - you should stick to your Tesla.

1. Bad customer service. Rarely when dealing with one individual, but when there are automated elements and it takes multiple attempts to address what’s probably a common problem (like getting my router reset). I become enraged just in anticipation. Completely out of proportion.
2 (And 1 is a subset of 2). When something is just wrong or done in a completely ass-backwards way for no logical reason and it affects me. But only when it’s for no reason. If it’s expensive to upgrade computer systems or a business is chronically a little understaffed because they can’t afford to be overstaffed when it’s slow, I get it. Doesn’t bother me at all.
But when I go into a doctor’s office and have to fill out a blurry PHOTOCOPIED form that was originally created in 1987 on a typewriter and has white space that’s about 1” x 1/16” where I’m supposed to write my address (which they should already have), it annoys me. That one doesn’t really enrage me because the impact on me is so infrequent and trivial but it’s a easy example of laziness and complacency from the business owner down to the person at the front desk.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | October 17, 2024 11:09 AM |
When people tell me I am not capable of doing something they have no idea about. Or assume. Probably based on gender, age or preconceptions. How do they know? I’ll do my damnest to prove you wrong, asshole. Also coworkers or leaders who mistake competence for “needing more work” - no! To make something look effortless takes effort; the trick is to make it look easy because you’ve got it dialed in.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | October 17, 2024 11:25 AM |
R84, that’s an interesting one. Why do you think that happens (not getting angry, that makes sense, but people telling you that you can’t do things)? I was told recently NOT to do something that would have improved processes at work and helped my colleagues, but I wasn’t told I was incapable. And I’ve been warned about doing things that might be risky or dangerous, but not in any way they implied I wasn’t competent. Can you give examples where people told you that you weren’t capable of do something?

I feel you, R59. There is a couple upstairs with an 8 year old daughter. I never hear the husband and only hear the daughter when she bounces a ball, which she does a lot for some reason. I know when the wife is home. She walks with the grace of a gorilla, stomps, really, and she never sits down. She is very thin, average height, but the problem is she's German, they tend to be heavy footed, graceless and seem to have an odd relationship with their bodies. To assuage my rage, I pretend she is goose stepping in the apartment giving nazis salutes. It makes me laugh.
Otherwise, they are very nice people and go to bed like at 8 PM, thank God!
