The Human Rights Campaign has completely lost its fucking mind

In their annual lineup of transgender people who have been killed is a Louisiana inmate named “Yella Clark, Jr,” who was service a life sentence. He was initially sent to prison for armed robbery, so we already know he was a pillar of the community. Then while in prison he killed another inmate so his sentence was enhanced to life in prison. He then became a she and was eventually killed in prison.

What crackhead on HRC’s staff thought this was a good way to raise money? How is showcasing the death of a violent, felonious tranny going to earn sympathy for the LGBT community?

They've got to keep the grift up somehow.

by Anonymousreply 1October 17, 2024 3:29 AM

All I know is that in the DC / Maryland / Virginia area you used to see lots of equality stickers on cars. Now I can't tell you the last time I saw one ,that might an indication of a dwindling support. Between their financial irresponsibility and now this. Just because your LGB or TIQA + you are not above the law and should be exonerated.

by Anonymousreply 2October 17, 2024 3:38 AM

[quote]How is showcasing the death of a violent, felonious tranny going to earn sympathy for the LGBT community?

If solicited for money by the HRC, the correct response is to refer them to the Ts for their fundraising, as that is the cohort HRC now serves. Same with GLAAD.

by Anonymousreply 3October 17, 2024 3:41 AM

R3 That should work out quite well for them. I know many trannies with law degrees and six figure salaries who would be happy to donate.

by Anonymousreply 4October 17, 2024 3:44 AM

They own their headquarters building in downtown DC.

by Anonymousreply 5October 17, 2024 3:56 AM

Listen up, you fags & dykes, the trans community are your overlords, you will support us, & you will like it! Speaking of support, drop some cash in my "Go Fund Me" account, this booger drag won't pay for itself.

by Anonymousreply 7October 17, 2024 4:01 AM

This brave trans woman of color was killed by LITERAL VIOLENCE!

by Anonymousreply 8October 17, 2024 4:10 AM

I guess it falls under Human Rights.

by Anonymousreply 9October 17, 2024 4:12 AM

OP doesn't care, he just wants to pick on trans people

Why are conservatives so obsessed with a group of people who make up .6% of the population? Do you guys watch t-girl porn like trans hater Mark Robinson

by Anonymousreply 10October 17, 2024 4:13 AM

There is nothing to indicate that this person was killed because they were trans. A violent criminal is killed in a prison fight and should be “honored” because . . . Why? As a symbol of trans people being killed in prisons? Surely we can call attention to this problem without “honoring” the victim.

The suggestion is that being trans wipes the slate clean? Offensive.

by Anonymousreply 11October 17, 2024 4:21 AM

Where was HRC when Jeffrey Dahmer was hate-crime murdered for being gay?

by Anonymousreply 12October 17, 2024 4:34 AM

Something tells me r4 you really don't.

by Anonymousreply 13October 17, 2024 4:44 AM

Ugh. I’ll say this. We can positioned these people’s existence however but the common theme is they didn’t choose to die.

by Anonymousreply 14October 17, 2024 4:59 AM

R10 That 0.6% has been able to cause a lot of damage within the last 10 years.

by Anonymousreply 15October 17, 2024 5:12 AM

R11 It’s old hat now for them to use black trans as martyrs. The trans movement got their start by piggybacking off the Black Lives Matter era. That’s where the Marsha P. Johnson bullshit kicked up and they used murder black trans hookers as the faces of their movement. The black faces started to disappear the bigger the movement became though.

Which in itself is old hat. The white feminists dragged out a 100 year old Harriet Tubman to speak at feminist rallies while they fought against black men being able to vote before them.

by Anonymousreply 16October 17, 2024 5:26 AM

HRC lost the thread years ago.

No one on DL is surprised in the slightest at this kind of stupid.

by Anonymousreply 17October 17, 2024 5:43 AM

From the link:

[quote]Yella was finally living their truth--something that everyone deserves to do, no matter their circumstances. Yet the circumstances of their death, and the harassment and violence faced while incarcerated, show that the system failed them as it does far too often for trans and gender-expansive people." Tori Cooper, Human Rights Campaign Director of Community Engagement for the Transgender Justice Initiative

[quote]In an injustice compounding this tragedy, Yella was misgendered in some media and police reports—despite the fact that they testified in court about their transgender identity and were receiving gender-affirming hormones through Angola prison.

What a bunch of crackpots. The bitch committed a murder, but let’s all cry because she was misgendered.

by Anonymousreply 22October 17, 2024 1:12 PM

Every trans person who is killed is a martyr!

Sound familiar?

by Anonymousreply 23October 17, 2024 1:21 PM

Just more trolling. HRC is a corporatist waste of time that dpesn't matter to any thinking gay person.

by Anonymousreply 24October 17, 2024 1:26 PM

It may just be looking ahead at a brighter more queer future. The latest in a long standing Gallup survey of lgbtq+ as far as the Gen Z the trans outnumbered the gay men. Not by a lot but by some.

And of course those identifying as bi lead the way with by far the most numbers.

You can get your news from breaking stories on the internet or read last months paper that was delivered to your door by a,paper-person.

Trans and Bi and Q and +++ are the future and growing.

by Anonymousreply 25October 17, 2024 1:34 PM

Eulogizing a trans murderer and violent prison inmate is quite a stretch from getting way too chummy with Goldman Sachs!

by Anonymousreply 26October 17, 2024 1:41 PM

And what kind of sympathy are you engendering for the LGBT community, OP? That we have to put up with your stupid fucking posts?

by Anonymousreply 27October 17, 2024 1:43 PM

Uh oh. Yella (R27) is in the building.

by Anonymousreply 28October 17, 2024 2:07 PM

by Anonymousreply 30October 17, 2024 4:44 PM

R25 That’s fine cause gays and trans are apples and oranges. Homosexuality has nothing to do with being transgender. There’s as many repressed heterosexual trans people as there are homosexual transgender people too.

by Anonymousreply 31October 17, 2024 6:35 PM

There's an odd tendency amongst the far left to imply - or even outright state - that whenever a trans person is murdered, it's because they were trans. In truth, most homicides are not hate crimes.

by Anonymousreply 32October 17, 2024 6:49 PM

HRC was only interested in their fancy parties when I was paying attention to them. So then I stopped paying attention and don't miss them at all.

In the last 20 years have there been any achievements?

by Anonymousreply 33October 17, 2024 6:58 PM

[quote]In the last 20 years have there been any achievements?

Well, they take credit for marriage equalty, I'm sure.

by Anonymousreply 34October 17, 2024 7:02 PM

R32 Most trans people are low lives that are at best antisocial. They engage in prostitution, sell drugs, get on welfare, and commit a plethora of other crimes. Most of their misfortune is of their own doing.

by Anonymousreply 35October 17, 2024 7:02 PM

One of the British trans poster girls is "Sarah Jane" Baker,

When Baker was 20 he was involved with kidnapping, torturing and sexually assaulting a young man. When in prison he tried to kill another prisoner and his sentence was extended, and then he escaped and his sentence was extended again. Then he discovered his true gender identity and cut his own testicles off.

Now released from prison, he's achieved celebrity for painting KILL JK ROWLING signs, protesting lesbian meetings and screaming at a protest march to "punch a terf" which saw him returned to prison for a short period.

TRANS RIGHTS!

Real Housewives of Angola Prison.

by Anonymousreply 37October 17, 2024 7:09 PM

What’s the opinion on Amnesty International as far as worthiness of receiving donations?

I only ask because of their aggressive street corner/in-person attempts at socially engineering polite people into committing to monthly donations. In fact I got “suckered” in to the monthly donations a few weeks ago, but I gave them a virtual card number that I can easily revoke when I decide.

by Anonymousreply 38October 17, 2024 7:09 PM

As we see now, the LGBT rights organizations got it right. Once gay marriage became accepted, the right turned against trans--increased stigma, passed laws, blamed them for the fall of Western Civilization.

Yes, this trans person wasn't the most pure, but straight (white) people just whitewash their heroes:

When Christopher Columbus was governor of the Indies, he constantly chopped off the limbs of and slaughtered native men, women, and children--so much so that the King of Spain was appalled, had him arrested, and taken back to Spain. Do we learn that? Nope, but we have parades in his name..

George Washington and many of the other founders ran forced labor camps, We revere them,

by Anonymousreply 39October 17, 2024 7:11 PM

Um, if you don't want to donate to HRC, then don't. No one is forcing you to.

What do trannies have to do with colonization?

by Anonymousreply 43October 17, 2024 7:16 PM

Was he high, Yella? I don't think incarcerated people should get gender-affirming care.

by Anonymousreply 44October 17, 2024 7:17 PM

The measure of a society is how it treats its prisoners. No-one should be murdered in prison (that includes by the state, through a death sentence) even if they have done heinous crimes themselves. Is tit for tat really the kind of ethics we want to adopt?

Nor should the state permit rapes and murders within prisons on the grounds that the victims deserved it anyway.

Perhaps 'honored' wasn't a wise choice of word, however.

by Anonymousreply 45October 17, 2024 7:22 PM

R46 Miss Yella murdered someone else in prison. I guess that guy’s rights don’t matter but Yella’s does because she’s a tranny?

by Anonymousreply 46October 17, 2024 7:25 PM

R45 I mean

by Anonymousreply 47October 17, 2024 7:25 PM

Christopher Columbus was up to no good in the late 1400s. George Washington died in 1799.

Yella killed most recently in 2018.

O tempora, o mores!

by Anonymousreply 48October 17, 2024 7:27 PM

R46 Of course that guy's rights matter. That's why Clark was convicted and sentenced to life in prison after that murder. The authorities should have done more to prevent that guy's murder, *and also* Clark's murder, there's no conflict here. Being a 'tranny' or not isn't really relevant.

Clark's initial sentence of 75 years for armed robbery was also ridiculous. If US authorities were willing to actually spend money on conditions on prison and transferring to life outside, they might have been rehabilitated. Unfortunately US authorities and voters prefer to make prisons hellholes.

by Anonymousreply 49October 17, 2024 7:29 PM

R39, trans ideology OPPOSES gay rights.

Do you understand? Fucking weird men who insist they are lesbians have a new way to terrorise women.

by Anonymousreply 50October 17, 2024 7:33 PM

BTW the US has 5% of the world's population but 25% of the world's prisoners. Black people are incarcerated at five times the rate whites are. When prisoners get out, they find huge barriers to living a normal law-abiding life, including, in some states, being classified as an ex-felon for the rest of their lives with all the implications for finding gainful employment, and being denied the right to vote.

Do Americans really think these incarceration rates make their society better? No.

And centuries later we name holidays, have parades, raise statues of them...

Their history has been purposely whitewashed to make them seem like heroes.

by Anonymousreply 54October 17, 2024 7:46 PM

R31 “ as many”

Maybe my experiences are atypical but I never knew one actual straight guy that wanted to live as a woman and have sex with other men. Gay men maybe even Bi s but never anyone straight.

I think you are making shit up

Now are there confused queer +++ people who don’t identify as homosexual and might self identify as trans I would be surprised if that were not the case.

by Anonymousreply 55October 17, 2024 7:49 PM

[quote] Unfortunately, several of the details of Yella’s death are far too familiar: Since 2013, Yella is the 17th trans or gender-expansive person to die at the hands of law enforcement, and/or while incarcerated.

Honestly, that really doesn't sound like an unusually high number over the course of eleven years, even accounting for the fact that trans people are a small subset of the population.

by Anonymousreply 56October 17, 2024 7:49 PM

R54, stop being obtuse. You've got a point but you undercut it with lazy bullshit and gross generalizations. That's all the time I've got for you.

by Anonymousreply 57October 17, 2024 7:51 PM

[quote] stop being obtuse. You've got a point but you undercut it with lazy bullshit and gross generalizations. That's all the time I've got for you.

And yet I'm completely right. Sure, they lived centuries ago. They should have been long forgotten. But, instead, we idolize them and pretend they had no faults.

So let's stop complaining that when someone not so great has something bad happen to them (like George Floyd), we shouldn't accept their humanity and say that whatever happened shouldn't have.

by Anonymousreply 58October 17, 2024 8:02 PM

R58 George Floyd deserved it.

By any measure, poor dead Yella was far worse than not so great. One thing worse than idiot is adopting it on purpose.

by Anonymousreply 61October 17, 2024 8:43 PM

R55, a large percent of MTF transgendered people are what a generation ago would have been called “cross-dressers” - ie. autogynephilic men who get a sexual kick out of imagining themselves as sexualized women but are all themselves attracted to women, they may be an even larger cohort then the MTF transgendered people who a generation ago would have been considered gay men so hyper-feminine that they are psychically/socially female.

I believe that analytics show that the men who seek and consume MTF porn content are typically (in very un PC terms) mostly straight but have a “chicks with dicks” kink as opposed to gay men.

by Anonymousreply 62October 17, 2024 8:44 PM

[quote] Most trans people are low lives that are at best antisocial. They engage in prostitution, sell drugs, get on welfare, and commit a plethora of other crimes. Most of their misfortune is of their own doing.

To reduce the risk of being the victim of crime, one should try not to stand out and try not to appear to be an easy mark.

It would be better for trans to be more muted and to be more butch.

The big increase is the number of FTM transitions. Although I think that fad has peaked. Anyone know what happened to the female journalist who was on the cover of New York magazine with her surgically attached fake penis?

by Anonymousreply 65October 18, 2024 1:51 AM

[quote]Anyone know what happened to the female journalist who was on the cover of New York magazine with her surgically attached fake penis?

That was Mac Maclelland, a kickass environmental and human rights journalist. I was acquainted with her when she was Mac and not "Gabriel Mac." Now she's writing about nothing but Queerness and seems to have gone down the Professional Queer rabbit hole the way your elderly uncle might go down the Q-anon rabbit hole.

It's a shame, because Mac was a hell of a writer destined for far bigger things. The person on the left is the one I knew.
